Oh dear...So any more need for convincing people to look to other ways of producing energy If this was a nuclear thing everyone would have their pitchforks and rope out...Oil seems to get soooo much leniency.... AL ps. I'm not saying we should get pitchforks and rope out, but we do need to get more proactive and keep the environment in mind not just us when looking for energy solutions. news.nationalpost.com/2010/09/02/oil-rig-explosion-reported-in-gulf-of-mexico/Workers safe after explosion on Gulf of Mexico oil rig: Coast Guard Comments Twitter LinkedIn Digg Buzz Email .Ron Nurwisah September 2, 2010 – 11:40 An oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico.According to Louisiana’s WWLTV the Coast Guard has responded to the situation. CNN is reporting that there were 13 on board the rig. Twelve of them were rescued in the water and one person is injured. The rig is located 90 miles south of Vermilion Bay. The rig was owned by Houston-based Mariner Energy. According to a Coast Guard spokesman speaking to CNN, the rig was not known to be producing oil. Agence France-Presse has more: “All 13 are accounted for and they are all wearing some sort of an immersion suit that protects them from the water,” Coast Guard chief petty officer John Edwards told MSNBC. Nine helicopters had been dispatched to the rig 130 kilometers south of Vermilion Bay in Louisiana, the spokesman said, adding the extent of any injuries suffered by the workers was not immediately clear. Four Coast Guard cutters were also en route to the rig, said to be owned by Mariner Energy, and which was reportedly still ablaze. “Right now we’re focused on search and rescue and then, ultimately, as this thing progresses we’re going to be looking into the cause,” Edwards added. The blast comes more than four months after an explosion ripped through the BP-leased Deepwater Horizon rig, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) off Louisiana, killing 11 workers and unleashing an environmental catastrophe. . Let me tell you a TRUTH about free energy, new technologies, etc. I learned within last two days and it's about UFOLOGY. I swear on my life and on the Cross of Jesus what I am telling you is true but I can't tell you how I learned it. If I do, oh the trouble I would start for my Bosses and they have enough to deal with without my adding one more thing. I think I am still adding one more thing because I have to buzz my Boss just because of mentioning it, but we swear truth to the people when we become an Eagles' Team members. I have to follow that oath too. Here's the truth, ok? The movers and shakers of Ufology, the ones with some control of how and where "ufology goes," the same ones who tell the public that they are trying to get new technologies freed from government control, free energy devices, new tech on the scene, that they want YOU to have the TRUTH AND A BETTER LIFE: they are really dedicated to a few things I WATCHED PROOF OF MYSELF, while they say that they are dedicated to getting all the above to the public. They are dedicated to: 1. Supporting TELLING YOU that the idea of new technologies reaching the public through Ufology and the actions of whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc. IS WHAT THEY WILL BE ON WATCH FOR YOU, AND GET BEHIND IT TO "FREE IT" FOR YOU. 2. Telling such people as whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc. FACE TO FACE, FACE TO FACE that they are BEHIND THEM 100% when such people say they have the ability to free such technologies, provide them, or get them to YOU FOR YOU. 3. They are dedicated to hoping that when appoached by such people as whistleblowers, scientists, inventors, etc. that such people REALLY DON'T HAVE such devices they can bring to the public, like most of them don't. (They are the ones who say they were "stolen" but never were or never working useless "black boxes" in the first place.) 4. They are NOT dedicated to YOU in the least, because as soon as such devices are found to be REAL, they run around, play legal grabass with each other, break their word and agreements because neither was good in the least in the first place. Their talk is cheap and so are they. 5. They are dedicated to running away when they have to cover their a/ss and they don't give a sh/t about you or yours. 6. They are dedicated to only 1 person and 1 group ONLY: THEMSELVES, and they use ANYTHING, ANY LIE to keep you coming back for more. Dan, you are my BOSS, but you aren't several other things, things you've never claimed to be. As my Boss you can admonish me for saying and doing things, and given your position even worse. You aren't my preacher and you have never claimed to be, or acted like you were. I am buzzing you to here, to still ask you three questions, three that I had to think long and hard about: 1. In your estimate, have I fulfilled my oath as an Eagles' Team member to be truthful to the public? 2. In your estimate, have I failed in my oath to the Group? 3. In your estimate, how's my soul lookin in front of Jesus right now when talkin "truths"? Franklin W. State of civil emergency declared after massive earthquake in Christchurch New Zealand www.stuff.co.nz/national/4094986/Government-supports-quake-hit-Canterbury LATEST: Mayor Bob Parker has told shaken Canterbury residents that support has been offered from the ''highest levels of Government''. Parker was speaking at a Civil Defence press conference outside a temporary headquarters at the Christchurch Art Gallery today. Christchurch - and the wider South Island - was rocked by the massive 7.1 magnitude quake at 4.35am. Buildings were flattened, residents injured and infrastructure damaged. The quake - initially reported at 7.4 magnitude but later downgraded - was centred 30km west of the city and 33km underground. It has been followed by a series of strong aftershocks. A state of emergency has been declared and will be in place until Monday or Tuesday. The CBD is in lockdown until at least tomorrow. ''There has not been a house or a family in our city who have not suffered damage in some way,'' Parker said. ''But this is a city working together to do what we can before nightfall. ''We have had immediate response and offers of support from the highest levels of government. However, we will only ask for it if we need it.'' The fine weather had been a blessing, he said. RECORD EVENT Today's 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Canterbury is the most damaging since the 1931 magnitude 7.8 Hawke's Bay earthquake, scientists say. The quake - felt widely across the South Island and as far north as Wellington and Palmerston North - matches the magnitude of that which rocked Inangahua in 1968. IMPACT Power was out to most of Christchurch and rural Canterbury, and the central city has been closed down by police because of the amount of rubble in the streets. By late morning, power had returned to most of New Brighton and Dallington, as well as Christchurch Airport and Christchurch Hospital, lines company Orion said. Ninety per cent of the city was expected to have their electricity restored by nightfall. Water pipes have ruptured and there are reports of flooding in some eastern Christchurch areas. Canterbury Police said the inner-city would be closed until tomorrow while assessments of damaged buildings was carried out. No businesses or licensed premises would open and no one, other than inner-city residents or people with bona-fide reasons to enter the area, would be allowed in. Police will man cordons throughout the night. The CBD-area affected by the cordon is bordered by Montreal, Kilmore, Madras and St Asaph streets. Emergency services have rescued about 10 people from holes in the ground including a person who was trapped in a pit in River Road after the ground collapsed. Ad Feedback So far, two people have been reported seriously injured in the quake. One man in his fifties was hit by a falling chimney and is now in a serious condition in the intensive care unit in Christchurch Hospital. Another man in his fifties has serious injuries after being cut by glass in the earthquake. The Director of Civil Defence and Emergency Management, John Hamilton, said the National Crisis Management Centre has been activated to co-ordinate central government response if required. Search and rescue teams have been deployed to the central city to check for trapped people in the rubble of the quake. Christchurch fire service spokesman Mike Bowden there were a number of people trapped in their houses and other buildings by falling chimneys, jammed doors and blocked entrances. However, there were no reports of people pinned underneath rubble so far. WEATHER WARNING A severe wind warning issued for Canterbury could prove dangerous for structures already weakened by the earthquake, the Met Service says. Gale force winds are expected to hit the eastern South Island tomorrow, and could potentially bring down trees and powerlines and make driving hazardous. The gusts could reach up to 130km/h hour in exposed places. They should die down by 6am Monday. POLITICAL REACTION Prime Minister John Key says he is rushing to Canterbury to "show solidarity" with locals rocked by a major earthquake. Speaking before he departed to Christchurch this afternoon, Key said it would be "a good result under the circumstances" if Canterbury escaped without any loss of life. "Our understanding is that there has been no loss of life, which we're obviously very blessed by," he said. "We want to get to Christchurch quickly to show solidarity and support for the people of Canterbury but also to make sure that we're fully briefed on the issues and the rebuild programme that will be required." It would take quite some time before a final assessment of the damage and the cost of the clean up would be known. "But it's important that the people of Canterbury know that we're there to support them and that central government will work alongside local government to do our best to restore the Canterbury region." Key was first contacted about the quake by his sister, who lives in a hill suburb of Christchurch. She had told him the shaking went on for 15 minutes and was so violent they couldn't stand up. There had been an even bigger earthquake in Fiordland last year but this one was in a very built up area. "It's quite terrifying for people," Key said. "The ultimate damage to water and wastewater is one of our primary concerns although it may be a few days before we know exactly the extent of that damage." Engineers were checking the damage to buildings and it appeared some more modern buildings had been affected. "If we could escape with damage to property and no loss of life then that would be a good result under the circumstances." Key will stop in Wellington to collect Cabinet colleagues John Carter and Gerry Brownlee before an expected arrival in Christchurch of about 2pm this afternoon. Key said he would play it by ear as to what he would do after today. RESIDENTS' CONCERN Colleen Simpson, from Christchurch, said everyone was out in the street in their pyjamas after the quake hit, looking scared and worried. There was no power, buildings were down and the mobile network was failing. "Oh my God. There is a row of shops completely demolished right in front of me," she said, from her car. Simpson and her young family were heading to her sister's house, where there was still power, so everyone could be together. INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGE About five per cent of buildings in central Christchurch have been damaged and streets are littered with the rubble of building facades. Many minor bridges have been damaged but all major bridges and road transport routes are okay. The surface of Avonside Drive, in eastern Christchurch, has a huge crack across it. The rail network has been shutdown as inspections are made. Christchurch Airport has also been closed as a precaution but there is no early suggestion of damage. The Fire Service has divided the city into grids and is sending staff into each area to assess the damage. Residents have been asked not to drive into the central city. All Canterbury emergency coordination centres - including Selwyn, Timaru, Waimakariri and Hurunui districts - have been activated. Civil Defence is asking residents in those areas not to use their cellphones unless for emergencies. And people have been warned that cellphone coverage could fall out later today. A spokesperson for lines company Orion said sewer lines and water pipes have ruptured, and whole substations are offline. Power is off to 75 percent of Christchurch and all of rural Canterbury. Power was expected to be restored to 90 percent of the city by nightfall, however there would be pockets where power would not be able to be restored due to damage. Damage reports for rural areas were yet to be done, the spokesperson said. Residents have been urged to conserve water. There have been reports of looting in central Christchurch following the quake. Inspector Mike Coleman said police had cordoned off central Christchurch as it was dangerous but also because looters had already been active. ''There's considerable damage there, and we've already had reports of looting,'' he told Radio New Zealand. ''Shop windows are broken and obviously it's easy pickings for displays and things.'' Additional police staff had been sent out to patrol the city streets. Police said damage and power outages have been reported from as far away as Dunedin. The rail network in the South Island has been shut down while it is inspected for damage. HEALTH CARE Christchurch Hospital's emergency department has also seen a number of people with minor injuries - mainly cuts and bruises, but also some broken bones. Canterbury District Health Board spokeswoman Michele Hider said they were still assessing damage to hospitals and still experiencing after shocks People who need medical assistance for minor injuries they should go the 24 Hour after hours surgery in Bealey Ave. She asked people not to go to Christchurch Hospital's Emergency Department unless it is an emergency. Christchurch hospital is running on generator power. Canterbury Health Board chief executive David Meates said the flow of people through Christchurch Hospital's emergency department had been like ''a typical Saturday night''. The common injuries were cuts and fractures but one man is in intensive care after being crushed by a crumbling chimney. Burwood Hospital is without water. ''Public health is going to be a real issue over the next few days so it is important that communities look after each other and not create an unnecessary burden on services,'' Meates said. St John Ambulance said services were fully functioning but urged medical alarm users not to activate them unless they were injured or unwell.

Ireland delays EU deal with Israel on data transfersBy Laurence Peter BBC News 3 September 2010 Last updated at 08:12 ETIrish objections have delayed an EU deal to allow the transfer to Israel of personal data on EU citizens. The Republic of Ireland linked its move to its concerns about the use of forged Irish passports in the killing of a top Hamas militant in Dubai in January — allegedly by Israeli agents. A European Commission official told the BBC that objections to the proposed data deal had only come from Ireland. Dublin says Israel must now tighten up its data protection laws. The deal under consideration is known as a "data adequacy" agreement, intended to facilitate commerce between the EU and Israel. The EU justice commissioner's spokesman, Matthew Newman, said the commission would seek further clarification on the points raised by Ireland and he insisted that the proposal was "not blocked". The commission has not yet decided on the next step, he said, adding that a new approach to Israel might not be necessary as "we might already have this information at our disposal". EU seeks data complianceThe EU already has data adequacy agreements with several countries outside the EU, including Argentina, Canada, Switzerland and the US. The idea is to make the EU's international partners comply with the data protection standards that prevail inside the EU, speeding up transactions. In the absence of such an agreement, each transfer of personal data has to be checked by the relevant country's data protection authority, to ensure that it is not leaked to a third party.Plans for such a deal with Israel were discussed on Thursday by data protection experts from the commission and the 27 EU member-states. The agreement "was due to go through on written notice, with no further discussion" before Ireland objected, Irish justice ministry spokesman Richard Moore told the BBC."This lit a red flag here. We objected, and that triggered a meeting of this data protection committee. "We were going to vote 'no' if it went to a vote. We accepted we would probably be a lone voice." Ireland was outraged that eight fake Irish passports were used by suspects in the killing of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in a Dubai hotel. Forged British, French, Australian and German passports were also used in the operation. Speaking on Irish radio RTE on Thursday, Irish Justice Minister Dermot Ahern said "the Israelis... can say they weren't responsible, but quite clearly agents on behalf of the Israeli state were involved". Dubai police have said they are 99% sure Israeli agents were involved, though Israel says there is no proof. Mr Ahern said Israel's current data protection law "only applies to automated processing, it doesn't relate to manual processing, which would possibly include the transcribing of passport details by hand"."We had to put up some protest," he said, referring to Ireland's objections to the proposed data deal with Israel. He said Dublin was also worried that Israel's data protection commissioner was "located within the ministry of justice - not at arm's length, not statutorily independent".Ireland, the UK and Australia expelled several Israeli diplomats following the Dubai assassination, suspecting that Israel's secret service Mossad was behind it. I got this in email this morning and haven't checked to see if it was the actual show, but the read of it sums up so very much! Nice to see something address the issues in such a grand way ! I woke up last night to the sound of laughing and realized I'd fallen asleep with the TV on. It was 3 AM and I knew it was Jon Stewart but I had to fumble around for my glasses to see who his guest was. Unbelievable! It was Jesus, in his robe and all. His nose was bigger than I thought, his skin a lot darker, but his eyes were more piercing than I'd ever imagined. It was like light came out instead of going into them.
John was making some joke about both of them being Jews and Jesus, after laughing harder than I thought he would, said quite seriously to Jon, "Yeah, that's one of the weirdest things, isn't it? How could they forget that?"
Jon was all over him with questions from the daily news. What was his take on the whole Mosque/Ground Zero fiasco? Jesus said he'd seen some newscasts on the story and couldn't believe the drama and fear it was bringing up. "They want to build a public building for prayer, education and community gathering. That's a good thing. A better thing perhaps, would be the construction of an interfaith building, There's room for everyone, and it's these distinctions between religions that's causing all the problems in the first place."
Jon looked incredulous. "An interfaith building??"
"Yes, a multi-tasking mosque, with a synagogue, chapel and meditation hall in it. A building where people of different faiths come together to make a better world together. That's the point of religion right? It's not about doctrine. It's a plan for action, an opportunity to be a bigger force for good. Religion is just the map. Faith is the real adventure."
"I don't know...." said Stewart, making one of those funny mouth movements he does after hearing a strange idea.
Jesus pipes in, "What could be better in that spot than a building that represents, by its very structure, a coming together, a new vision that goes beyond religious borders? It's like taking a good idea and making it great. The real prophets of the day know this. Where are their voices? Why aren't you interviewing them?"
"Hmm, I thought I was," says Stewart, tapping his pencil on the desk.
"You know why you have border issues here? Because you believe the borders are real, like they MEAN something. Muslin against Christian, Mexican against American, Republican against Democrat-all those borders are made up. You put up walls to defend your ideas-and not even your OWN, but ideas passed down to you from someone else-and then you make other people look like demons. It's no wonder this country is in a state of collapse. You don't even get it how connected you are. You're like five fingers on a hand who think they're separate and make up reasons why not to get along."
Jon sat there with his mouth open.
"You're like children playing war games. You spend all your time, all your energy attacking the "other side" instead of realizing you need to bridge the two sides in order to get across to a higher level of thinking. Even news shows are at war. Look at how you make fun of FOX. What light does that add to the world? All the time you could be giving to real visionaries, all the ways you could be role-modeling good behavior, showing the audience how it really WORKS to bring great and opposing minds together, and you sit there poking fun at another station. That's really enlightened, isn't it?"
This was the first time I'd ever seen Jon Stewart speechless. He looked like an embarrassed 6th grader. No pencil tapping now. More like a puppy with his tail between his legs.
"What in the world are you people doing? The ones who call themselves "religious" are often the most immature, the most judgmental and intolerant. What is THAT about? That's exactly the opposite of what every religion teaches. And I mean EVERY religion,"
Jesus said, as he looked away from Stewart and spoke right to the camera.
"All the religions say two basic things," he said, holding up his fingers in a peace sign.
"First, there is no distance between you and this one you call God. God is the creative force behind all things. It's invisible, but you are the manifestation of it. I'm telling you, the Sistine Chapel should have been a mirror."
The audience laughs, but Stewart stares into those deep eyes of the Nazarene.
He goes on, " You are the eyes, the hands, the feet of that creative force. That energy is in you. It's called your breath." He holds up his index finger and taps on it a few times. "That's the first thing. Don't think there's some man out there pulling strings. Grow up. This civilization-if you can call it that-is YOUR creation. This earth, it is not a bunch of resources to be exploited. It is not to be owned. It is your mother, the womb that you sprang from. You are its consciousness, its neural cells. The whole earth is the organism that you belong to. You did not come down to earth, you came up from earth, as I did. Its well-being is in your hands. Can you be proud of what you're doing? Are you going to be the ones who kill it off, after all that talk about pro-life?"
Jesus was getting a little worked up, like that day he stormed through the temple turning over the merchants' tables. Jon cut to a commercial, "And we'll be right back to hear the 2nd basic thing from our guest tonight, ladies and gentlemen, the Jewish prophet Jesus of Nazareth. Stay tuned..."
They were laughing about something when they returned from the commercial, Jesus stretched out in his chair with his long lanky legs covered by his tunic, his sandaled feet hidden under the desk.
"OK," Jon says, "You were saying there were two things. Let me see if I got this right. There's no bearded guy up there on a cloud. That God we talk about and fight over is the creative force inside us and around us? It's invisible and we're like....(a long pause) its shadow?"
"Not exactly," says Jesus. We're like the physical form of the same energy. The ice cube version of water or steam. Same elements, different form. The sea and the iceberg. You're all icebergs in the Sea of God," he said, half-laughing at his own quaint metaphor. "But the problem is you don't realize that underneath it all, you're all connected. There's just one big iceberg with a lot of tips. The truth is, you're Creation continuing the co-creation of Itself."
"Oh my," says Stewart. "Let's leave that discussion to Bill Moyers, What about number two? What's the number two thing we're supposed to know?"
Jesus holds up his two fingers again, tapping the tip of his middle finger. The camera zoomed in so closely on him I could see a scar on his forehead. "It's not so much what you need to know-that's part of the problem, all these peoples' belief systems. That's what gets you in trouble. No one has to believe in me to get to heaven. A...there is no heaven to get to and B, it's not what you believe but how you act that matters. If anyone learned anything from reading that Bible they should have picked up that one. There's 3000 references to helping the poor in there. But let me get back..."
"Yes," says Stewart. "The second thing.."
"The second thing is this: forget everything you ever learned in any holy book and just treat everyone like a brother and a sister. I mean that literally. If it were your brother coming across the border...your sister with cancer and no health care....your child unable to get an education....your mother with no food in her house. And even further, your brother who was gay or hated gays, your sister who was a corrupt politician, your brother who bombed an abortion clinic, your sister who got an abortion. What does it look like to love unconditionally? To bridge differences, to come together over what we can agree on? Can you get through one day without thinking you're better or less than another? That's the thing to strive for. That is living faithfully."
"But...but..." says Stewart. "What about the Tea Partyers, the terrorists, what about Fox News and hate crimes?"
"If you think they are so different from you, be the opposite of what you think they are and enact that powerfully in the world. Don't focus on who's wrong. Just be a greater force for good."
"Not focus on who's wrong? How could I do my show?"
"Exactly. Remember what Gandhi said? Be the change you want to see in the world?"
"Sure. I have that quotation on my refrigerator."
"Well, it's time to take it further. You're evolving as a people. You've come through the Dark Ages, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the wrongly named Period of Enlightenment. You're now in the Information Age. You are growing your consciousness. In the physical world, you have Olympic marathon trainers who run 10 miles or more a day. They spend every waking hour in training, eating the right foods, researching the right clothing and equipment, working out, following a discipline. And in the metaphysical world, the spiritual world, you have people doing the same-they are your mystics and prophets-engaging in spiritual practice, accelerating their wisdom, expanding their consciousness, transcending judgment and radiating love into the world. You might be in that category.,."
Stewart does one of his choking, ahem things, putting his hand over his mouth. "Out of the question," he says frankly. "I thrive on judgment."
"Good to know yourself. You're all evolving at different rates. In the fall, when you look at a maple tree, you see leaves that are green, yellow, orange and red. They don't all change at the same time. And that's what makes life exciting. You all know different things. That's why you need each other. Like that guy Ken Wilbur said, "You're all right, only partly so."
Stewart nods his head in agreement, tapping his pencil on the table again.
"But back to Gandhi. I agree with what he said, but I'll say it a different way, just to shake things up a bit, which I love to do. By the way, it'd make a great bumper sticker:
Be the God you want to see in the world."
"Oh-oh, sounds blasphemous to me," says Stewart.
"You know as well as I do, every good idea starts out as a blasphemy."
"OK, great, we're out of time," says Stewart, as the camera swings over for a shot of the audience. They're all standing, some crying and laughing at the same time, the most incredible look of collective awe I've ever seen. And Jesus walks over like Jay Leno and starts shaking hands with them. What a night!"

Buildings collapse, 2 injured in powerful NZ quake By ROB GRIFFITH (AP) – 2 hours ago www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gLE5Mss9oMr_dpRNOuQ19HacFrRQD9I1DGVO4CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand — The powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake that smashed buildings, cracked roads and twisted rail lines around the New Zealand city of Christchurch on Saturday also ripped a new 11-foot (3.5 meter) wide fault line in the earth's surface, officials said Sunday. At least 500 buildings, including 90 downtown properties, have been designated as destroyed in the quake that struck at 4:35 a.m. (1635 GMT Friday) near the South Island city of 400,000 people. But most other buildings sustained only minor damage. Only two serious injuries were reported from the quake as chimneys and walls of older buildings were reduced to rubble and crumbled to the ground. The prime minister said it was a miracle no one was killed. Power was cut across the region, roads were blocked by debris, and gas and water supplies were disrupted, Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker said. He warned continuing aftershocks could cause masonry to fall from damaged buildings, as could gale force winds due to buffet the region Sunday. Canterbury University geology professor Mark Quigley said what "looks to us that it could be a new fault" had ripped across the earth and pushed some surface areas up about three feet (a meter). The quake was caused by the ongoing collision between the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates, he said.
"One side of the earth has lurched to the right ... up to 11 feet (3.5 meters) and in some places been thrust up," Quigley told National Radio. "The long linear fracture on the earth's surface does things like break apart houses, break apart roads. We went and saw two houses that were completely snapped in half by the earthquake," he said. Roger Bates, whose dairy farm at Darfield was close to the quake's epicenter, said the new fault line had ripped up the surface across his land. "The whole dairy farm is like the sea now, with real (soil) waves right across the dairy farm. We don't have physical holes (but) where the fault goes through it's been raised a meter or meter and a half (3 to 5 feet)," he told National Radio. "Trouble is, I've lost two meters (6 feet) of land off my boundary," he added. Experts said the low number of injuries in the powerful quake reflects the country's strict building codes. "New Zealand has very good building codes ... (that) mean the buildings are strong compared with, say, Haiti," which suffered widespread damage in a magnitude-7.0 quake this year, earth sciences professor Martha Savage told The Associated Press. "It's about the same size (quake) as Haiti, but the damage is so much less. Though chimneys and some older facades came down, the structures are well built," said Savage, a professor at the School of Geography, Environment and Earth Sciences at Victoria University in the capital, Wellington. "Thank God for earthquake strengthening 10 years ago," Anglican Dean of Christchurch, Rev. Peter Beck, told TV One News on Sunday. Euan Smith, professor of Geophysics at Victoria University, said the fact that there "were no fatalities ... it's quite remarkable." Experts were speculating the very soft soils of Christchurch had "acted like a shock absorber over a short period ... doing less damage to smaller buildings. They will dissipate earthquake energy if they're thick enough," he told The AP. Christchurch fire service spokesman Mike Bowden said a number of people had been trapped in buildings by fallen chimneys and blocked entrances, but there were no reports of people pinned under rubble. Rescue teams with sniffer dogs were continuing to check premises. State geological agency GNS Science reported more than 40 aftershocks in the 24 hours following the quake, ranging in strength from magnitude 3.7 to 5.4. A state of emergency was declared and army troops were on standby to assist after the quake, which was centered 19 miles (30 kilometers) west of Christchurch, according to GNS Science. No tsunami alert was issued. Prime Minister John Key, who flew to Christchurch to inspect the damage, said it was "an absolute miracle" that no one had died. He warned it could be months before the full extent of the damage was known, but said initial assessments suggested it could cost at least 2 billion New Zealand dollars ($1.4 billion) to repair. "There is a major rebuild job here in Christchurch ... and people are terrified at what took place," he said Sunday. Civil Defense officials lifted a curfew on the central city area Sunday morning, while police commander Superintendent Dave Cliff said only two arrests had been made overnight for breaching the security cordon set up to prevent people being injured by falling masonry. "Some parts of the city are very dangerous" because of unsafe buildings he said, and a cordon would remain in place as gale force winds hit the region during the day. Up to 90 extra police officers had flown in to Christchurch to help, and troops were likely to join the recovery effort on Monday, Parker said. About 250 people had taken refuge overnight Sunday in accommodation centers at schools in suburban areas to house people forced out of their damaged homes, civil defense spokesman Murray Sinclair said. Minister of Civil Defense John Carter said there was "a lot of damage to our key infrastructure ... water, waste water systems." Christchurch Hospital said it had treated two men with serious injuries and a number of people with minor injuries. One man was hit by a falling chimney and was in serious condition, while a second was badly cut by glass, hospital spokeswoman Michele Hider said. Christchurch police reported road damage in parts of the city and cordoned off some streets where rubble was strewn about. Parked cars were crushed by heaps of fallen bricks, and roads buckled. Civil defense agency spokesman David Millar said at least six bridges had been badly damaged and the historic Empire hotel in the port town of Lyttelton was "very unstable" and in danger of collapse. Several wharves at the port were damaged. People in the city's low-lying eastern suburbs were told to be ready to evacuate after power, gas, sewage and water systems were cut by the quake, Police Inspector Mike Coleman said. Kiwirail rail transport group spokesman Kevin Ramshaw said 13 trains, mostly freight, had been halted, with some damage confirmed to lines north of Christchurch. New Zealand sits above an area of the Earth's crust where two tectonic plates collide. The country records more than 14,000 earthquakes a year — but only about 150 are felt by residents. Fewer than 10 a year do any damage. New Zealand's last major earthquake registered magnitude 7.8 and hit South Island's Fiordland region on July 16, 2009, moving the southern tip of the country 12 inches (30 centimeters) closer to Australia, seismologist Ken Gledhill said at the time. Associated Press writer Ray Lilley in Wellington contributed to this report. Copyright © 2010 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

The Skies Above Us: The Chemical Attack Against Vancouver Island The skies above my home in Victoria are mainly clear today, September 4th, 2010. Great bands of rainclouds drifting gently in from the Pacific are currently circling round us, promising rain later tonight, perhaps. I qualify my forecast because as anyone who has lived on the wild west coast of Canada knows, the weather has its own schedule, and only a fool believes the weathermen here. More predictable however is the appearance of the jet trail fliers. They arrive invariably in pairs, criss-crossing the skies over us for hours at a time, leaving long, spreading, toxic clouds that crosshatch above and persist for hours, making of our evening air a grey murk. I've watched these guys for years, but the last two days in Victoria were about as bad as I've ever seen for the chemical spraying of the skies above us. But, it was not just Victoria; reports from Nanaimo concur, the whole southern half of Vancouver Island and beyond suffered under the onslaught of chemical application that began before dawn and was still overflying as the sun set. Though sometimes a lovely orange as the sun slides below their horizon, the chemical tracks, or "chemtrails" serve as a disturbing portent of the coming world. Denied for years, their observers labelled "conspiracy nuts" and such, the reality of these things is as easy to verify as a simple gaze upwards. Looking there, you'll see them in most parts of the world, jets doggedly flying patterns, back and forth, east to west, north to south, trailing wide plumes that billow out of nozzles visible in pictures, and to anyone with a telescope and steady hand. But what are they; and, more importantly, what is that stuff being sprayed so persistently into the atmosphere? Though these chemtrail flights have been commented upon for more than a decade, there is still very little on the official record to answer these simple questions. It would be easy enough to access flight plans, if such things were filed, to trace the operators. The planes flying these missions are as large as passenger liners, and after the 9/11 attacks, one assumes every jet liner flying over population centres is duly authorized, logged, and tracked. But not these; why not? How is it something in plain sight can remain clouded in mystery for so long? How is it possible a great and ugly "fact on the ground" can be so persistently ignored, or denied in those rare instances comment is made? As to the materials jettisoned from them, try asking your local health authority about it. In my town, the local health officer is fixated on cigarettes, the smoking of which is banned in every public building in the city, and on balconies too; but ask them what is filling the airshed above our town, and making its tourist-friendly blue skies grey and you're likely to be invited to exit the building before the police arrive. We're all familiar with the truism: "What goes up, must come down," but who knows what is coming down, and why won't they tell us the truth about it? I say this is portent of our coming world, but in reality it is the past that is prologue. For years we wealthy have ignored the poverty that ravishes the rest of the world. We have watched largely silent as millions died of war and disease, pestilence and famine. We ignore the reality of the bloodthirsty necessities employed to "protect our interests around the world," sacrificing our humanity for vague promises of physical security. And, we have ignored the horrendous damage our rapaciousness has wrecked on the ecosystem, and for our non-human fellow Earthlings. So, what's the big deal about a little smoke in the sky? I'd like to know a few things: 1) I demand to know who is flying these missions. 2) I demand to know what they are introducing into our environment. 3) I demand to know why they are introducing these unknown elements. 4) I demand to know when these flights will stop. I'm not alone in making these demands. Around the country, and around the world, citizens are looking up with the same kinds of questions and concerns, and they too want answers. We are beginning on Vancouver Island to form an alliance. Already, watchers are poised with cameras, recording these events. We are now ready to reach out to those silently worrying about this issue, and are inviting your participation. The photos and video presented here were all recorded over a two day period, the first two days of September 2010, by regular people who live on Vancouver Island. They are the beginning of a campaign to address our shared concerns. There are many theories about these flights and their true purpose. I don't know the answers to the questions above, and I feel speculation at this juncture is no substitute for information and a substantive response from those within the ministries and departments responsible for the health and well-being of the population and environment; but until that is forthcoming, I suggest citizens take action. If the government is unwilling to act in your interest, as it appears, and refuses to take seriously your inquiries and intelligence, as is also abundantly obvious, then it's time to seek redress without them. HELLO PEOPLE: This is a message from your friendly Majestic Clinical Psychologist, and is ONLY intended to the person(s) who understand the nature of the message. Everyone else is not part of this communication, unless you are aware of what we have come to call part of "THE RUNNING JOKE" of the " NEWER ORLEANS MERRY-GO-ROUND." Do YOU know what I am writing about? If not, then this message has NOTHING to do with you! ;D THE MESSAGE IS THUS: "YES, THEY "KNEW" AHEAD OF TIME. ;D WE LOVE THIS KIND OF THING! The name of the poster, referencing this quote has been removed in this response, because it is NOT directed to him. I personally spoke with Dr. Dan about this post, late last night. The reason why I did is because it related to the "Merry-Go-Round" in my previous public post. He didn't comment, but had one hell of a laugh about the New er Orleans Merry-Go-Round! ;D If, again ;D you happen not to understand the reference of this public post, I apologize, but it's only because it's directed to a limited "sandbox" full of very active ones with little plastic shovels and pails. ;D If this alleged operation (so called chemtrails) is to protect the People, in their interests and Safety, in certain cases the demands (above) would (or must) be denied. They appear to be denied. On my part (Stan), I found this part of the statement interesting. "If the government is unwilling to act in your interest, .., then it's time to seek redress without them." If it is a government, a collection of governments, and/or those governments and certain "Groups" who are behind this alleged, effort, then - use your minds - would they allow themselves to become involved in the seeking of "redress" against themselves or anyone else? August 30, 2010. LOOK CLOSELY: (Look at those eyes. A typical Angel Eagles run?) "If the government is unwilling to act in your interest, .., then it's time to seek redress without them." Without them, to whom would you seek redress? One should think before they write, and know recent history before asking them questions. Does anyone think that it required THE WHOLE TEAM, MINUS 2, AND EVEN M'S SISTER TO BE IN SEATTLE FOR JUST 1 ANGEL EAGLE'S RUN? WHY THE WHOLE FORCE FROM EAGLES DISOBEY? (AND WE WILL ADMIT ;D THAT BOTH CANADIAN CITIZENS ON THE TEAM, SISTERS, DID CROSS INTO CANADA, AND ENTER VANCOUVER, DURING THE TRIP.) EVEN THOUGH A VAN IS PICTURED, FOR CERTAIN REASONS, WE DECLINE TO ADMIT THAT THE TEAM OFFICIALLY ENTERED. (Honest, we couldn't know these things ahead of time? ;D) EVERYONE: the People, for whom we are UNDER OATH to PROTECT, are being protected, WE ARE DOING OUR JOBS. WE LOVE YOU, Stan

We have been asked what I would call a partially unfair question about Dr. Dan. 'What about his new position does he like the best and what makes this short stay and retirement any different than when he thought he would be allowed to retire before?'
It's a legit question though and here is the truthful answer:
Dan does NOT like his present position. He wants to be doing his research, exclusively. He took the position because Marci asked him to, and for ONLY that reason. He DID NOT want the positon and while he is faithful to the requirements, he doesn't want it now! He is waiting until 2012 when he can resign with Marci. Marci's Religious Order's traditions DEMAND that she not be in the public respecting the Majestic/et issues, beyond the 2012 date. The Order is thousands of years old. The Traditions will be respected and that does allow for some public presence, but NOT to do with the jrod-like issues or the DCTP issues. It is a Tradition that CANNOT be violated by their own free intents. It has NEVER been violated by anyone of her Order, nor their spouses, and she even told someone yesterday the truth that she has been trained all her life for what has happened, is happening, and will soon conclude. You will be briefed by Dr. Marci, personally, when this all happens, and you will understand then. Dan is married to her and being such he MUST follow the ancient Tradition as well.
Did Marci know about this ancient Tradition all along? YES, but she thought she could arrange an "out" before the Tradition technically kicked in. Did Dan know ALL ALONG about the Tradition? No, he had no clue. He was only told openly and bluntly face to face by her in the recent past. truly,..
