How the CIA Caused Mass Insanity in a French Town by Spiking Bread with LSD Environmental Graffiti www.environmentalgraffiti.com/bizarre/news-how-cia-caused-mass-insanity-french-town-spiking-bread-lsd2010-03-31 The year was 1951 – the height of the Cold War – and in the sleepy, scenic town of Pont-Saint-Esprit in southern France, a beautiful summer’s morning was about to get ugly. On that fateful day, the townsfolk were without warning mysteriously stricken with mass insanity in the form of horrifying hallucinations. As a result of the outbreak, at least five people died and 50 were admitted to asylums, while hundreds more were afflicted. Who was responsible? Say recent allegations: the CIA. According to an article in The Telegraph: “Inhabitants were suddenly racked with frightful hallucinations of terrifying beasts and fire. One man tried to drown himself, screaming that his belly was being eaten by snakes. An 11-year-old tried to strangle his grandmother. Another man shouted: “I am a plane”, before jumping out of a second-floor window, breaking his legs. He then got up and carried on for 50 yards. Another saw his heart escaping through his feet and begged a doctor to put it back.” For decades, it was thought the strange and disturbing case of the Le Pain Maudit ('The Cursed Bread’) transpired because the bread of a local baker had either been unwittingly contaminated with the hallucinogenic mould, ergot, or according to another theory, poisoned with organic mercury. Now, however, new evidence points the finger of blame at the CIA, which stands accused of spiking local food with LSD as part of the covert mind control experiments of project: MKULTRA. The revelations were made by investigative journalist Hank Albarelli in his 2009 book, A Terrible Mistake. Albarelli claims that the very same scientists who offered the widely believed explanations for the acute psychotic episodes were working for the Swiss pharmaceutical company, Sandoz, which secretly supplied the CIA and US Army Special Operations Division (SOD) with LSD. In other words, ergot and mercury were simply red herrings designed to deflect attention from the truth. The Telegraph explains that Albarelli discovered CIA documents as he was investigating the suspicious suicide of biochemist Frank Olson, who fell from a 13th floor window while working for the SOD two years after the ‘Cursed Bread’ incident. In the documents, Albarelli found transcriptions of a conversation between a CIA agent and a Sandoz official who mentions the “secret of Pont-Saint-Esprit” – that the cursed bread had nothing to do with mould, but with diethylamide – the D in LSD. Albarelli also spoke to SOD scientists who confirmed knowledge of the incident’s position in a vast research programme that manipulated the minds of prisoners and enemy troops, as well as US, Canadian – and now it seems French – citizens. Other official US government documents also support the story that agents sprayed LSD both into the air and in local foot products in Pont-Saint-Esprit, naming a number of French nationals who had secretly been employed by the CIA. However, many are unconvinced by Albarelli’s and the Telegraph’s version of events. Steven Kaplan, a French historian and professor at Cornell University, published a 2008 book called Le Pain Maudit, which focuses on the lives of the people affected by the events at Pont-Saint-Esprit and includes interviews with those who suffered hallucinations and were institutionalised at the time. Kaplan has already dismissed Albarelli’s CIA story; commenting in France 24, he said: “I have numerous objections to this paltry evidence against the CIA. First of all, it’s clinically incoherent: LSD takes effects in just a few hours, whereas the inhabitants showed symptoms only after 36 hours or more. Furthermore, LSD does not cause the digestive ailments or the vegetative effects described by the townspeople…” “It is absurd, this idea of transmitting a very toxic drug by putting it in bread. As for pulverising it [for ingestion through the air], that technology was not even possible at that time. Most compellingly, why would they choose the town of Pont-Saint-Esprit to conduct these tests? It was half-destroyed by the US Army during fighting with the Germans in the Second World War. It makes no sense.” Now parts of Kaplan’s counter arguments themselves do not hold up. For one, LSD is not “very toxic” as he states – it is categorically non-toxic – and moreover there is nothing “absurd” about bread being used to hold a liquid suspension of the drug, as the blog Reason has identified. However, where Kaplan does make a salient point against the CIA dosing theory is in his observation that the supposedly laced bread did not take effect for some time, whereas LSD would kick in far sooner. One of Reason’s readers has also critiqued the conspiracy theory. The anonymous commenter concurs with Kaplan’s contention about the too-long time delay in symptoms appearing, and adds that “people haven't died from even massive overdoses of LSD, unlike a number of people who died of convulsions from the mass-poisoning in Pont-Saint-Esprit. There has never been an unambiguous recorded human death from LSD overdose... Physiologically speaking, it's extremely safe.” The Reason commenter also recaps that the poisoning was traced back exclusively to the bread of a local baker, and therefore "Albarelli’s claim that the poisoning was due to 'a covert LSD aerosol experiment directed by the US Army's top-secret Special Operations Division at Fort Detrick, Maryland' can be definitely ruled out.” The more reactions you read to The Telegraph article, the harder it becomes to believe. Chemist Derik Lowe has taken issue with the idea that the Sandoz scientist said the outbreak was due to “diethylamide – the D in LSD”, which he derides because diethylamide "isn't a separate compound," and "LSD isn't some sort of three-component mixture.” Moreover, says Lowe, “diethylamides have no particular hallucinogenic properties... It’s like saying that the secret of TNT is a compound called 'Tri'. Nonsense.” Ultimately, bigger questions like why the CIA would single out a small town in the south of France to test LSD as a war weapon are most puzzling. And what of the knowledge of the Cursed Bread inside France? If French officials or secret services were aware of what was about to happen, why did they do nothing to prevent it, and if they weren’t, why were they so ill informed? The mystery of the Cursed Bread shows little sign of being solved, but the notion of a CIA plot starts to seem suspect.

Mysterious Whale Die-Off Is Largest on Record LiveScience www.livescience.com/animals/largest-whale-die-off-100329.html2010-03-30 Mass death among baby right whales has experts scrambling to figure out the puzzle behind the largest great whale die-off on record. Observers have found 308 dead whales in the waters around Peninsula Valdes along Argentina's Patagonian Coast since 2005. Almost 90 percent of those deaths represent whale calves less than 3 months old, and the calf deaths make up almost a third of all right whale calf sightings in the last five years. "This is the single largest die-off event in terms of numbers and in relation to population size and geographic range," said Marcela Uhart, a medical veterinarian with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). She represents an associate director in Latin America for the WCS Global Health Program. Meeting on the mystery To get to the bottom of the baby-whale mystery, the scientific committee of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) convened an urgent meeting at a workshop in Puerto Madryn, Argentina, this month. Only a few clues have emerged so far regarding the cause of death, such as unusually thin layers of blubber on some dead calves. Whale calves typically have lower chances of survival during their first year of life, but the high rate of death at Peninsula Valdes is unique. Southern right whales are baleen whales that filter their tiny prey from the water with their comb-like mouths. They once represented an ideal target for whalers and nearly went extinct, but began to rebound after a whaling ban started during the1930s. Still, the whales remain listed as endangered and have yet to recover anywhere close to their historic population levels of 60,000 or more. Health experts and biologists have yet to reveal exactly what type of death has recently stalked the young right whales. But experts at the IWC meeting agreed that it's unlikely the main cause of death came from killer whale attacks, disturbances from whale-watching boats, vessel strikes or fishing gear entanglement, Uhart told LiveScience. "These last two mortality factors are the main causes contributing to the near extinction of northern right whales [near the] Eastern U.S.," Uhart explained. North Atlantic right whales represent a separate species from southern right whales, and remain even more endangered with just around 350 surviving individuals. Possible causes Ruling out some factors for the southern right whale deaths leaves possible causes, such as harmful biotoxins created by algae or other organisms, disease, environmental factors at the nursing grounds or lack of prey at the whales' feeding grounds. Official results from the workshop about the cause of death will be released after review and approval at the IWC's annual meeting scheduled to take place in Morocco in June. The last huge die-off for great whales — including all baleen whales and sometimes the sperm whale — took place in the Eastern Pacific from 1999-2000. More than 250 gray whales showed up dead between Alaska and Mexico during that incident. That gray whale population is much larger than the southern right whale population around Peninsula Valdes, and so the most recent die-off of southern right whales represents a bigger toll in both a numerical and proportional sense. Still, there's some reason for hope amidst the uncertainty. Southern right whale populations near Australia and South Africa have escaped the mass death that has stricken the right whales around Argentina. "Even though the population at Valdes seems to be suffering unusually high calf mortalities, all other southern right whales seem to be doing well," Uhart said.

What if all coral reefs die? Experts are scared Yahoo News news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100325/ap_on_sc/us_world_without_corals2010-03-27 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Coral reefs are dying, and scientists and governments around the world are contemplating what will happen if they disappear altogether. The idea positively scares them. Coral reefs are part of the foundation of the ocean food chain. Nearly half the fish the world eats make their homes around them. Hundreds of millions of people worldwide — by some estimates, 1 billion across Asia alone — depend on them for their food and their livelihoods. If the reefs vanished, experts say, hunger, poverty and political instability could ensue. "Whole nations will be threatened in terms of their existence," said Carl Gustaf Lundin of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Numerous studies predict coral reefs are headed for extinction worldwide, largely because of global warming, pollution and coastal development, but also because of damage from bottom-dragging fishing boats and the international trade in jewelry and souvenirs made of coral. At least 19 percent of the world's coral reefs are already gone, including some 50 percent of those in the Caribbean. An additional 15 percent could be dead within 20 years, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Old Dominion University professor Kent Carpenter, director of a worldwide census of marine species, warned that if global warming continues unchecked, all corals could be extinct within 100 years. "You could argue that a complete collapse of the marine ecosystem would be one of the consequences of losing corals," Carpenter said. "You're going to have a tremendous cascade effect for all life in the oceans." Exotic and colorful, coral reefs aren't lifeless rocks; they are made up of living creatures that excrete a hard calcium carbonate exoskeleton. Once the animals die, the rocky structures erode, depriving fish of vital spawning and feeding grounds. Experts say cutting back on carbon emissions to arrest rising sea temperatures and acidification of the water, declaring some reefs off limits to fishing and diving, and controlling coastal development and pollution could help reverse, or at least stall, the tide. Florida, for instance, has the largest unbroken "no-take" zone in the continental U.S. — about 140 square miles off limits to fishing in and around Dry Tortugas National Park, a cluster of islands and reefs teeming with marine life about 70 miles off Key West. Many fishermen oppose such restrictions. And other environmental measures have run into resistance at the state, local, national and international level. On Sunday, during a gathering of the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, restrictions proposed by the U.S. and Sweden on the trade of some coral species were rejected. If reefs were to disappear, commonly consumed species of grouper and snapper could become just memories. Oysters, clams and other creatures that are vital to many people's diets would also suffer. And experts say commercial fisheries would fail miserably at meeting demand for seafood. "Fish will become a luxury good," said Cassandra deYoung of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization. "You already have a billion people who are facing hunger, and this is just going to aggravate the situation," she added. "We will not be able to maintain food security around the world." The economic damage could be enormous. Ocean fisheries provide direct employment to at least 38 million people worldwide, with an additional 162 million people indirectly involved in the industry, according to the U.N. Coral reefs draw scuba divers, snorkelers and other tourists to seaside resorts in Florida, Hawaii, Southeast Asia and the Caribbean and help maintain some of the world's finest sandy beaches by absorbing energy from waves. Without the reefs, hotels, restaurants and other businesses that cater to tourists could suffer financially. Many Caribbean countries get nearly half their gross national product from visitors seeking tropical underwater experiences. People all over the world could pay the price if reefs were to disappear, since some types of coral and marine species that rely on reefs are being used by the pharmaceutical industry to develop possible cures for cancer, arthritis and viruses. "A world without coral reefs is unimaginable," said Jane Lubchenco, a marine biologist who heads NOAA. "Reefs are precious sources of food, medicine and livelihoods for hundreds of thousands around the world. They are also special places of renewal and recreation for thousands more. Their exotic beauty and diverse bounty are global treasures."

Personality may influence brain shrinkage in aging PhysOrg www.physorg.com/news189188726.html2010-04-01 Psychologists at Washington University in St. Louis have found an intriguing possibility that personality and brain aging during the golden years may be linked. Studying MRI images of 79 volunteers between the ages of 44 and 88 — who also had provided personality and demographic data — the researchers found lower volumes of gray matter in the frontal and medial temporal brain regions of volunteers who ranked high in neuroticism traits, compared with higher volumes of gray matter in those who ranked high in conscientious traits. “This is a first step in seeing how personality might affect brain aging,” says Denise Head, PhD, assistant professor of psychology in Arts & Sciences at Washington University. “Our data clearly show an association between personality and brain volume, particularly in brain regions associated with emotional and social processing. This could be interpreted that personality may influence the rate of brain aging.” She notes also that the results could be seen as “the tail wagging the dog.” That is, it is actually brain changes during aging that influence personality. “Right now, we can’t disentangle those two, but we plan to in the future by conducting ongoing studies of the volunteers over time to note future structural changes,” Head says. Head’s graduate student Jonathan Jackson, first author of a recently published paper on the research in Neurobiology in Aging, says that he, and co-authors Head and David A. Balota, PhD, professor of psychology, tested the hypotheses that aging individuals high in neuroticism would show lower brain volume, while those high in either conscientiousness or extroversion would have larger brain volume. The extroversion results were not clear, but the data validated the other two hypotheses. “There are lots of nonhuman animal studies that suggest that chronic stress is associated with deleterious effects on the brain, and this helped us form the hypothesis that we’d see similar effects in older adults.” Jackson says. “We assumed that neuroticism would be negatively related to structural volume," Jackson says. "We really focused on the prefrontal and medial temporal regions because they are the regions where you see the greatest age changes, and they are also seats of attention, emotion and memory. We found that more neurotic individuals had smaller volumes in certain prefrontal and medial temporal parts of the brain than those who were less neurotic, and the opposite pattern was found with conscientiousness.” “A unique thing that we’ve done is to reliably measure personality differences and associate them with age-related effects on brain structures in healthy middle-aged and older adults” Head says. “Specifically, we found that neuroticism was associated with greater age-related decline in brain volume, whereas conscientiousness was associated with less age-related decline.” The researchers were interested in healthy aging brains because, down the road, the findings might serve as a useful marker for later diagnosis of dementia. The volunteers they studied are normal control participants at Washington University’s Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC), led by John C. Morris, MD, the Friedman Distinguished Professor of Neurology and director of the ADRC. One of the first changes in Alzheimer's disease may be in personality. There is accumulating research from the ADRC and other institutions that suggest that people tend to become more neurotic and less conscientious in early-stage Alzheimer's. “It might be that changes in personality track onto those people more likely to develop Alzheimer's,” Jackson says. “It’s why we looked at older healthy adults because it’s important to track these relationships in healthy populations before you look at pathological ones. "We know that there are degenerative processes going on before the diagnosis of Alzheimer's. We want to be able to see if the subtle personality changes might be particular to an early clinical picture and possibly see if one can predict who will become demented based on personality changes,” Jackson says. Another way of looking at the findings, Head says, is that neuroticism might add an increasing vulnerability to the pathological processes that go on in aging, particularly in Alzheimer's. “We will continue to pursue the relationship between personality and brain structure as one of the earlier processes in Alzheimer's and hence a possible risk factor,” Head says.

Toads can predict earthquakes - study www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/breaking-news/toads-can-predict-earthquakes-study/story-e6freuz9-1225847829530March 31, 2010 9:51AM FOR ages, mankind has craved a tool that can provide an early warning of that terrifying moment when the earth begins to shake - and if a scientific paper published today is confirmed, we may at last have found one. The best hope yet of an earthquake predictor could lie in a small, brown, knobbly amphibian, it suggests. The male common toad (Bufo bufo) gave five days' warning of the earthquake that ravaged the town of L'Aquila in central Italy on April 6, 2009, killing more than 300 people and displacing 40,000 others, the study says. Biologist Rachel Grant of Britain's Open University embarked on a toad-monitoring project at San Ruffino lake 74km north of L'Aquila, 10 days before the 6.3-magnitude quake struck. Her two-person team observed the site for 29 days, counting toad numbers and measuring temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall and other conditions. By March 28, more than 90 male toads had mustered for the spawning season, but two days later, their numbers suddenly fell, Grant reports. Start of sidebar. Skip to end of sidebar. End of sidebar. Return to start of sidebar. By April 1 - five days before the quake - 96 per cent of the males had fled. Several dozen ventured back on April 9 for the full moon, a known courtship period for toads, although the tally was some 50-80 per cent fewer than in previous years. After this small peak, the numbers fell once more, only picking up significantly on April 15, two days after the last major aftershock, defined as 4.5 magnitude or higher. In addition, the number of paired toads at the breeding site also dropped to zero three days before the quake. And no fresh spawn was found at the site from April 6 until the last big after-tremor. Ms Grant said the toads' comportment is a "dramatic change" for the species. Once male toads hole up at a breeding site, they usually never leave until the annual spawning season is over, she notes. Eager to answer the riddle, Ms Grant obtained Russian measurements of electrical activity in the ionosphere, the uppermost electromagnetic layer in the atmosphere, which were picked up by very low frequency (VLF) radio receivers. The toads' two periods of exodus both coincided with bursts of VLF disruption. Previous research has attributed perturbations in the ionosphere to releases of radon, a radioactive gas generated underground, or to gravity waves prior to a quake, although much about this phenomenon is unclear. In the quest to find an earthquake predictor, elephants, horses, wolves, snakes and fish have all been variously put forward. This study, though, is exceptional. It puts the flesh of data and first-hand observation on the bones of anecdotal evidence, even if there is no confirmed explanation as to why the toads bolted as they did. "Our study is one of the first to document animal behaviour before, during and after an earthquake," Ms Grant said. "Our findings suggest that toads are able to detect pre-seismic cues such as the release of gases and charged particles and use these as a form of early warning system." The paper is published in the Journal of Zoology by the Zoological Society of London.

Study shows experiences are better than possessions www.physorg.com/news189277732.html?xid=rss-fullcontent2010-04-03 A new Cornell study finds that lust for material things fade but our unique experiences remain with us for a long time. The satisfaction we get from buying vacations, bikes for exercise and other experiences starts high and keeps growing. The initial high we feel from acquiring a flashy car or megascreen TV, on the other hand, trails off rather quickly, reports a new Cornell study. Why are experiences more satisfying? For one thing, it's harder to compare them to others' experiences; they belong to us alone. "Your experiences are inherently less comparative, they're less subject to and less undermined by invidious social comparisons," said professor of psychology Thomas Gilovich, who published the study with Travis J. Carter, Ph.D. '10, in a recent issue of Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. People are less satisfied with material purchases because they are more likely to second-guess what they could have had (such as a new model or a better price), the researchers found. Consumers spend more time thinking about material purchases they didn't choose than they spend when they buy an experience. "There's a lot of work in the area of well-being and happiness showing that we adapt to most things," Gilovich said. "Therefore, things like a new material purchase make us happy initially, but very quickly we adapt to it, and it doesn't bring us all that much joy. You could argue that adaptation is sort of an enemy of happiness. Other kinds of expenditures, such as experiential purchases, don't seem as subject to adaptation." Gilovich conducted studies about five years ago that people get more enduring happiness from their experiences than their possessions. The new research looks at why that is. "Imagine you buy a flat panel TV. You come to my house, and I have a bigger, clearer picture than yours. You're bummed out," Gilovich said. "But suppose you go on a vacation to the Caribbean. You find out I've done the same, and mine sounds better than yours. It might bother you a little bit, but not nearly to the same degree because you have your memories; it's your idiosyncratic connection to the Caribbean that makes it your vacation. That makes it less comparable to mine, hence your enjoyment isn't undermined as much." In one study, a bag of potato chips and a chocolate bar were both on a table. The volunteers were told they could have the chips, while the researchers implied that others got the chocolate. Another group of participants received a small physical gift that was next to a better gift that was intended for someone else. The participants reported they felt less satisfied in the latter case. "Visible comparison undermined the enjoyment of the material goods, but it didn't undermine the enjoyment of the experiential good [potato chips]," Gilovich explained. "If you consume an experience in the presence of something better, it doesn't as consistently or powerfully undermine the experience." What does it all mean? "Our results suggest that if people get more enduring happiness from their experiences than their possessions, at a policy level, we might want to make available the resources that enable people to have experiences. You can't go hiking if there are no trails. And if those are the kinds of things that give people more enduring enjoyment, we need to make sure we're creating the kinds of communities that have parks, trails and so on that promote experiences that produce real enjoyment."

Drug Discovered In The Soil Of Easter Island Could Cure Alzheimer's io9 io9.com/5508523/a-drug-discovered-in-the-soil-of-easter-island-could-cure-alzheimers2010-04-04 Rapamycin is a bacterial byproduct discovered in the soil of Easter Island. It extends the lives of animals, and now two independent studies show that it can reverse the symptoms of Alzheimer's. Is this the drug we've been waiting for? A study published yesterday in the Journal of Biological Chemistry confirmed that mice with Altzheimers showed marked improvement in memory and cognition after being fed a rapamycin-enhanced diet. This study was released simultaneously with another, in PLoS One, which confirmed the results of the first in a different group of mice. How does this wonder drug work? Physiologist Veronica Galvan, an author on the PLoS study, explained: "Rapamycin treatment lowered levels of amyloid-beta-42, a major toxic species of molecules in Alzheimer's disease. These molecules, which stick to each other, are suspected to play a key role in the early memory failure of Alzheimer's . . . The fact that we are seeing identical results in two vastly different mouse models of Alzheimer's disease provides robust evidence that rapamycin treatment is effective and is acting by changing a basic pathogenic process of Alzheimer's that is common to both mouse models. This suggests that it may be an effective treatment for Alzheimer's in humans, who also have very diverse genetic makeup and life histories." Rapamycin has already been approved by the FDA to treat organ rejection in transplant patients. That means doctors could start prescribing it for the "off label" use of treating Alzheimers tomorrow. The researchers are still not sure if the drug would reverse the effects of Alzheimers, or simply block them. But for millions of people suffering the effects of Alzheimers, that question may be moot. Expect to be hearing more about this drug, and soon.

Earthquake rocks western Mexico Page last updated at 02:46 GMT, Monday, 5 April 2010 03:46 UK CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8603073.stmSeismologist Lucy Jones: "There will be aftershocks over the next few days" A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has hit the Mexican peninsula of Baja California, killing at least one person and causing tremors as far away as Nevada. The quake struck at 1540 (2240 GMT), 26km (16 miles) south-west of Guadalupe Victoria in Baja California, at a depth of 32km, said the US Geological Survey. Some people are still trapped in their homes in the city of Mexicali, where a state of emergency has been declared. It was the worst quake to hit the region for many years, officials said. The US Geological Survey said some 20 million people felt tremors from the largest quake to hit the area since 1992. Bridge checks Mexican civil protection officials said a man had died when his home collapsed outside Mexicali, near the earthquake's epicentre. Map Rescue teams with digging equipment and sniffer dogs have been despatched to the worst-affected areas of Mexicali from the nearby city of Tijuana. The government in Mexico's Baja California declared a state of emergency in Mexicali, a city of about 900,000 people. The quake caused buildings to sway in Tijuana, where Easter celebrations were interrupted as families rushed for open ground. Some parts of Baja California had seen power cuts, officials there said. The BBC's Peter Bowes in Los Angeles says the shaking lasted for about a minute and US firefighters were called out to inspect roads, bridges and power-lines. The LA Fire Department had also responded to a number of automatic alarms and people being stuck in lifts, reports said. Rides were temporarily suspended at the Disneyland theme park in California. Many readers who contacted the BBC spoke of the "surreal" swaying of buildings for up to a minute, although Steve Rider from Palm Springs in California said it was "the most powerful earthquake I have ever felt". Kyle Stockburger, in Los Angeles, said: "Everyone stopped talking in the restaurant and the overhead lights started swaying back and forth. It wasn't violent, just unreal. It felt like the whole earth was swaying."

New Wings Report...enjoy Taking Charge of Our SpacesApril 4, 2010 As we ground more firmly into the earth (or rather as the light begins owning its new power and taking its place as the rightful steward of the new earth and new reality), interesting changes and scenarios are beginning to unfold. Owning and connecting to our new and rightful power brings with it some specific stages of evolution, and many of these stages have been unfolding in recent weeks and are continuing still. We are now very here, and on the earth in every way possible, which means that we are no longer up there, out there, removed, distanced, and in meditation. What some of us have strived to see and be while in a meditative state needs to be here now in a reality state. Many of the other dimensions that existed through differing ways of accessing them, are now here 24/7, as we are now living in a new and higher vibrating dimensional reality. This change of scene or venue usually begins by feeling a new and different sense of power. In times past, many of us may have used surrender to access more light, or even strived to “get out of our own way” in order to connect or bring in some higher vibrating energies from somewhere else. But now, things are very different. I have written about this change coming in many of my recent books, and we are really experiencing this now, as it is finally time. We are the light now. We are the power now. Most of us have evolved far enough through Phase I of the ascension process, that we no longer need to defer to something else that seems to know more than we do. In this way, we need not feel that our egos are running the show. Hoping this all makes sense. For those who have gone through and experienced the most intense processes of evolutionary growth and expansion over the years, these souls will feel the most in charge now. In this way, we need no longer defer to off-planet non-physical sources either. Those of us who have and are experiencing the ascension process, are revered enough by our ancestors (who know very well that those of us in form on this planet were intended to create a new earth, as we continue to evolve far beyond our predecessors), that they leave us alone unless asked. Meddling or dictating off-planet sources are not of the highest order. As we begin this process of owning our new power, we very naturally begin to tangle with non-physical presences that want to whisper in our ears, telling us that we have no right or business being in charge, or even that we do not know what we are doing. Playing with our egos and our confidence, these energies may be interpreted as dark forces by some, but I have always believed and experienced them simply as aspects of ourselves that are coming to the surface as they are on their way out, and are thus, coming from fear of their demise. Whenever we evolve and expand, we nearly always encounter the darkness. As if it is trying to grab onto us and keep us tethered to where we once were, these are simply energies which can no longer be a part of us, nor have a hold on us, as we are now vibrating much higher than they are. The same is true for the light as well. When we communicate with the non-physical world which is of a higher order, we are simply communicating with aspects of ourselves which we are not yet ready to own, and thus, place outside of ourselves until we eventually evolve into being them ourselves. As for the darker energies, we are encountering them as well, but only in the opposite direction. So many symptoms of transition! Does it ever end? So then, as we begin owning our new power, we may find ourselves challenged by issues regarding our egos, as we are simply re-balancing and coming into our true and rightful places. And we have most certainly earned the right to take charge of the planet and our spaces now. So then, coming into our power can also relate to taking care of ourselves and setting up more secure boundaries, re-structuring into a new and different space, and placing ourselves first for a while as we gear up for the times ahead. In the last WINGS post, I referred to many energies who were only out for themselves, but this is not what I am referring to here. In order to embody our new power and new space, we need to set it up and we need to secure it. In this way, we may be finding ourselves becoming very clear aboutwhat we will allow into our spaces and what we will not. We may be preparing our finances and making sure that we are taking care of ourselves first, and we may find that we are very done with deferring to the needs of others as we may have done in times past during Phase I. During Phase I, or up until September of 2009, we agreed to assist with bringing this planet to a new and higher level of consciousness by interacting with many of the darker and denser energies. Now things are very different. Because our roles are now vastly different than they were in Phase I, we may now find ourselves saying “no more” to anything we may have endured in times past. In this way, we may become adamant that we be somewhere new and different, and we may find ourselves securing our boundaries like never before, as we attempt to make sure that our new spaces are pristine and pure, all the while embodying the energies of a very new reality and new us. This is because we are now in Phase II which involves creating the new reality, and not necessarily then, in assisting and helping others. If we are going to set up a new world, we must be able to do just that. We must create spaces that support us in doing what we need and desire to do (and be) next. Yes, many of us will be assisting those who are residing below us, at the next level down (and certainly in regard to the impending natural disasters), but we will come to know, that in times to come (or really, how it has always been), we cannot assist others without assisting ourselves first. Phase I of the ascension process created many instances where we seemingly had no choice but to be in situations we may have preferred not to be in. At our soul levels, we were simply doing our jobs of raising the vibration of the planet through ourselves. Now, we actually get to come first in all ways. This is part of owning our new power. When my daughter was pregnant with her twins (who will be two years of age in June), I checked in on their energy to see what they would be about. Each generation, or succession of new souls arriving on the planet, comes with a mission or purpose intact. These newest souls have some very different energies. They are very adamant and powerful beings. They stop at nothing to get what they want. They know what the new reality was meant to look like, and plan on forging through with strong intent, unwavering with what they have come to accomplish. They will not be swayed…they are strong beings indeed. During my last visit with my grandbabies, they became obsessed with getting some new golf clubs, just like their older brother. Luckily, we found some plastic ones at the store, and these boys bathed with them, slept with them, rode with them in the car, and used them as “tools” all the while I was there. One day while I was sitting on the sofa, Solomon took a hard and forceful swing and clobbered me on the forehead with his club. Quite stunned, I teared up as my head began to swell. Upon seeing me upset and hurt, both babies immediately ran to their cribs and returned with their “blankies,” placing them in my lap as they lovingly tended to my situation. This is the energy of the new souls. Very powerful, aggressive, active and forceful, but at the same time, having open hearts that do not hesitate to give love and caring. And this then, is the energy that we are finding ourselves embodying as well. As we evolve into matching the energies of the new earth, at whichever stage we are currently experiencing, we always “become” the energy we are residing in. Each succession of newly arriving souls matches the newest earth energy, and as for us, we evolve very naturally into these states as well. In this way, we may arrive as one particular kind of soul, but always morph into the latest model. We may find that we are needing to call upon a very new strength within us now, but we will still find it easy to open our hearts as well when needed and in appropriate situations (not in situations where we are being taken advantage of). The new heart energy knows when to open and when to stay closed. There is another scenario unfolding as well. There are indeed energies still residing in the Earth Two overlay, or rather that are still around us, who still do not see the big picture, or rather that there is indeed a whole. Even though many of us may currently be in positions of taking care of ourselves, or rather laying our new foundations and ways of being, this is a temporary situation brought about by the advent of the March equinox and the new plateau that we have created thus far. So even though many of us are currently tending to ourselves and our own needs, we are only in this phase so that we may be strong and ready to assist others when needed, and also, to begin the creation of the new planet earth. There are others who are coming from a very different stance. These are souls who have not yet awakened and evolved. These souls are taking care of their own needs, and will continue to do so as they are coming from fear. They do not know how to interact with others by meeting in the middle, seeing and acknowledging the needs of those around them, and do not understand that there is a “whole” out there, not just a singular self. When interacting with these souls, it can be challenging, but we are being taken care of in miraculous ways and guided to just the right situations and changes, so that we need no longer associate or connect with these types of energies. Many weeks past, an energy such as this suggested that I was “taking things personally” when I loudly objected to the situation at hand. I heartily disagreed. For me, it is a matter of integrity and human decency, in addition to a matter of the well-being of this planet and working together as a team while considering the needs of everyone involved. I recently received a letter from a woman who had just experienced the same. It is almost difficult to remember the days when we were so deep in transition, with seemingly nothing to connect to and feeling so very lost. With each earth movement, we connect more fully, as each and every energy adjusts and aligns with the new energies of the new earth. Many days ago, my off-planet friends revealed to me that there will be a progression of more severe earthquakes arriving next in the Baja California area, and as each area of earthquake activity aligns and adjusts, these quakes will be moving steadily upward into Southern California. Today, Baja California experienced a 6.9 earthquake (since upgraded to a 7.2), as our earth continues with its process of preparation for the new energies. As always, we will always be right where we need to be at any given time, as each of us has amazing internal barometers and a higher awareness present, if even at times at our subconscious levels. As our very new spaces become ever more intact, so does our very new power, as we begin a new and exciting residency in a very new reality of our making.
